For nearly 8 years Thomas Deleu, initiator and project leader of Crea Thera, a Belgian NGO, has provided music therapy for children and adults in Srebrenica and Sarajevo, Bosnia. Those born just after the war, grew up in families that have lived under intense pressure. The harder the war has affected a family, the more likely it is that the child was also hit hard. Many of them suffer from the consequences of living in a traumatized area (post-secondary traumatization). Music and art therapy teaches them to deal in a non-verbal way with their problems in a society otherwise very reluctant to expressing emotions.
Thomas has handed over his project to Zdravko Nikolic and Mladen Kojic in March 2016.
